This weeks theme for the Inspired Stamps Design Team is Patriotic. I created a card I plan on sending to my favorite active Marine, Tyler. This week with the holiday weekend the Inspired Stamps Design Team day snuck up on me, so I didn't have as much time to play with it as I normally do. So this card is relatively simple in design, (I ain't quite satisfied with it and I might just have to go back and redo it later, I am my worst critic).
For this card I used the His Little Ones - Soldier With Flag, I love this little guy, he is so cute and adorable, not to mention really fun to play with. On my card I paper pieced the soldier, taking time to cut out each individual piece from colored cardstock, and then placed on the card using foam tape. For the background I used a homemade version of glimmer mist, one in a blue shade and another clear version. I took chipboard stars and placed them on my background cardstock and then sprayed over them with the blue glimmer mist, and on the cranberry I repeated the above step and sprayed it with the clear glimmer mist. This added a little sparkle to my background paper. The "Hi" Sentiment is from More Perfect Sentiments. The star is a chipboard piece inked blue then sprayed with the blue glimmer mist to give it the sparkle. In Real life this card has a really pretty glimmer to it, but the picture doesn't do it justice.
This is a close up of the soldier and glimmer background. |
