Last Minute Gift

Christmas is less than a week away, Do you have all your gifts bought??  Me, I just started my Christmas Shopping.  Seem's like I am constantly waiting till the last minute to get my shopping finished.  In my defense my son's are wrestlers and that means my weekends are all spent at all day wrestling tournaments, so that doesn't leave much chance for shopping.

This week over at Inspired Stamps we are focusing on last minute gifts, I should be a pro at this considering I always seem to be getting things at the last minute.

For my last minute gift I made this cute little treat holder, using Inspired Stamps Vintage Christmas and Snowmen to Random Stamp the white box that came with the treat tubes,  I filled my tube with M&M's wrapped a little glitter tape around the tube, added my scalloped circle with my greeting and I have a quick  and easy gift.

Until my son Tony wrestles off for a lower weight class and he will now be fighting to stay under 132 the rest of the season.  Guess he will not be eating any chocolate anytime soon, and I am back to the drawing board for his last minute gift.  (Guess that means more chocolate for Mom :-)

Materials Used: Inspired Stamps Vintage Christmas and Snowmen

Quick and Easy Cards

What do you get when you have Cuttlebug embossing folders, a cricut, and Inspired Stamps?  Quick and Easy cards.  This week over at the Inspired Stamps Blog we are showcasing Quick and Easy cards.  The ones I have made below, only took me about 2 hours to make all 14, and that was with my niece here talking with me while I worked.  If you notice, I changed up the look of these cards by using different accent colors, and on the bottom one I changed up the position of the banner, to give the card a little different look.

For this card I used Vintage Christmas stamp set, a musical score embossing folder, and the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to create this very basic, yet elegant Christmas Card.

For this card I used the "Merry Christmas" from Blessed Little Christmas and a snowflake from Let It Snow Stamp Sets, a snowflake embossing folder and the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to create this card.

Materials Used: Inspired Stamps  Vintage Christmas, Blessed Little Christmas, Let It Snow
CTMH: White Daisy, Ponderosa Pine, Pacifica, and Cranberry Cardstock, Believe and Dakota B&T, red and clear sparkles, Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge
Cuttlebug embossing folders:  snowflakes and Musical score.

Week #7 of Inspired Stamps 12 weeks of christmas tutorials: Altered Canvas

For the last 6 weeks the Inspired Stamps Blog has featured the Inspired Stamps 12 weeks of Christmas Tutorials.  Each member of the Design Team will be featured demonstrating how to create a special project.  This week #7 I am demonstrating how to create an altered canvas.

Below are a few of the supplies I used to create my Altered Canvas.

My first step is to paint the canvas with CTMH Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint, tinted to my desired color using re-inkers.
For this canvas I mixed Holiday Red, Lilac Mist and Heavenly Blue Re-Inkers with the Create-a-Shade Paint to get my mauve-purple color.

Once I achieved my desired shade I painted my entire canvas, going over it first up and down then side to sidc to make sure the canvas was evenly covered.

Once my canvas has dried, I usually let it dry overnight. I will then start deciding what all I want to include on the canvas and start by laying out my embellies and papers trying to decide where I want to go with the look of the canvas.

Above you will see I chose a B&T piece from the La Bella Vie paper pack from CTMH, along with several rolled roses, cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, that I had laying around in my pre-made embellishment box.

I cut my B&T paper 5x4-1/2, then attached it to my canvas using Madge Podge.  I do coat both the back of the paper and the canvas before I lay my paper on the canvas.  Making sure that all corners of the paper are firmly sealed to the canvas.  I have taken my roller to my paper to make sure the paper is sealed.

Once my paper is sealed on I put a layer of Modge Podge over the entire Canvas, to seal it.

Once I have my B&T paper on my canvas I once again layout my embellishments to see if what I have pictured still will work, or if I need to make any changes.  I am a very visual person, and sometimes at this point I realize that what I had in mind isn't gonna work.  Checking it at this point before I start gluing down the embellishments helps prevent those "Oh, shoot" moments.  It is also at this point where I make sure my "frame" or "Focal Point" is the perfect size.

My next step I ink up my scripture in VersaMark ink and then in Black ink, before I stamp it onto my cardstock. I used Proverbs 3:5-7 from the Inspired Stamps "His Plans For You" stamp Set. I then coat it with Clear Detail Embossing Powder, and heat emboss, the image.  This prevents my water based ink from running when I coat it with Modge Podge.  Once the image as been heat embossed I adhere it to my canvas using Modge Podge

Once I have my Scripture Focus glued on it is time to put the finishing embellishments onto my canvas.  Above I have used Modge Podge to adhere the branches and leaves to the canvas.  I adhered sparkles to the holes in my "frame".  I then let that layer dry and got ready for my final step.

The Final Step is to attach the rest of your embellishments, in my case the 3-D rolled Roses and Butterfly cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  I use CTMH Liquid Glass to attach my large embellishments to my Canvas.

CTMH: Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, La Bella Vie Paper Pack, Black Ink, Holiday Red, Lilac Mist, Heavenly Blue Re-Inkers, Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint, White Daisy, Olive, Desert Sand, and Black Cardstock, Clear Sparkles, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Prisma Glitter

Sneak Peek Week - Leaves

It is Sneak Peek Week over at Inspired Stamps, and today I have created a card using the new Inspired Stamps Leaves set.  This set was very fun to play with, it has several styles & sizes of leaves along with a basket and lots of individual words you can use to create your sentiment. I used this set to create a Thank You card, with a very fall feel.  If you like this set or any of the other sets from this Months Sneak Peek, you can find them at the Inspired Stamps online store starting this Friday, November 2nd at Noon
I had plans to use this set, not only on my card but, on a Fall scrapbook layout also. Unfortunately my playtime was very limited this last week.  ER Trips and high winds dropping trees into the path of your son's car have a tendency to take up a lot of time.  My Oldest, Robbie badly sprained his ankle, and Jimmy had a tree fall in front of him 2 miles from our home, Jimmy was uninjured but the car was totaled.  The tree falling was caused by the High winds from Hurricane Sandy.

Materials Used: Inspired Stamps Leaves
CTMH: Dakota B&T, Desert Sand, Chocolate Cardstock
Orange, Burnt Orange, Yellow Orange, and Yellow Cardstock from my stash
Orange Ribbon from Ofray

Scripture Focus

This week over at Inspired Stamps we were to do a Scripture focused project.  I have had severe creative block the last couple of weeks so this week's project looks very generic.  I used the Flowers stamp set with a scripture from Inspired Stamps Favorite Collection #2.

I am hoping to clean and reorganize my craft room tonight and hopefully that will get the creative juices flowing again.  If my workspace changes too much tonight I just might add a few pictures later.

Materials Used: Inspired Stamps:  Flowers & Inspired Stamps Favorite Collection #2
CTMH Materials:  Dotty for you paper pack, White Daisy Cardstock, Black Ink, I can't remember what CTMH markers were used to color the flowers as they were in my discarded embelishment box.
Epoxy circles are from Darcico.

Card for 58

This week over at Inspired Stamps we are to use a tag in our project.  I created this card using the new Tags stamp set along with the $3.99 Single Scripture Mark 10:27 and Feel Better Stamp Sets.

This card is for a Matt, a Senior, on my son's football team he was in a serious accident a week ago and is in ICU in a coma with severe head trauma.  His football number is 58, and our school colors are red, white, and black , so that is why the 58 is on the card.

PS: Sorry for the glare on the picture, my big camera died and I had to use my cell phone for the picture.

Materials Used: Inspired Stamps Sets: Tags, Mark 10:27 and Feel Better
CTMH: Ruby, Black and White Daisy Ink, Cranberry grosgrain ribbon, White Daisy Cardstock.
Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

Sneak Peek Week

It is sneak Peek Week over at Inspired Stamps.  Today we are giving you sneak peeks of several new stamps sets that will be released in the Inspired Stamps Store at Noon on Friday.  Today I am giving you a Sneak Peek at the new stamp set named Tags.  This set has the outline of 2 tags and a box, along with the solid image of a tag, Scripture Philippians 4:13 and several greetings, I also am showing two new $3.99 Scripture stamps Ephesians 5:20 and Psalm 116:15

On the above card I used  the distressed tag outline from the Tags stamp set along with the sentiment.  The scripture is a $3.99 scripture Psalm 116:15.

Materials Used:  Inspired Stamps Tags and Psalm116:15 stamp sets
CTMH Materials used:  Roxie Paper pack, White daisy & Desert Sand cardstock, Ruby, Desert Sand and Black inks. Art Philosophy Cartridge
For this card used the rounded square outline and a sentiment from the Tags set, with the $3.99 Scripture Ephesians 5:20.

Materials Used: Inspired Stamps Tags and Ephesians 5:20 stamp sets

CTMH Materials used: Roxie Paper pack, White daisy & Desert Sand cardstock, Ruby, and Black inks.

I really had a lot of fun playing with the Tags set, especially since the tag outlines closely matched a tag on the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cricut cartridge.  I cut out the tag at 3-1/4" and then stamped each one.  While playing I realized that most of my $3.99 scriptures stamps and several of the other scripture stamps I had fit nicely on the tags, so I created this tag book with all my favorite scriptures on it. The heart and title on the front tag are from the Tags stamp set also.
Below are close ups of a couple of the tags.

Materials Used: Tags and Ephesians 5:20 stamp sets
CTMH Products used: White Daisy Cardstock, Ruby, black inks, Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peak of the Tags, Ephesians 5:20 and Psalm 116:15 stamps sets.  These will be available in the Inspired Stamps online store this Friday at Noon.

Thanks for looking, don't forget to check out the other girls artwork and to check back daily to the Inspired Stamps blog to see more sneak peeks of additional stamps being released this Friday.

Christmas is Coming

It is hard to believe that summer is over, and the new School Year/Football Season has started.   Which means that Christmas is getting closer, and now is the time to start creating your Christmas cards, so you aren't still making them on Dec 24th. This week at Inspired Stamps the Design Team is creating Christmas themed artwork.  I used Vintage Christmas to create the card above.  The sentiment is Stamped and embossed on vellum, and then glued onto the B&T to create a vintage feel.

Materials Used:  Inspired Stamps Vintage Christmas,
CTMH: Mistletoe B&T, Colonial White Cardstock, Mistletoe Assortment Embelishment pack, Cocoa and Desert Sand Ink, clear Detail Embossing Powder
Gold Paper and Ricrac ribbon from Jo-Ann's

Today while you are viewing this post I will be at the Cleveland Processing center watching Jimmy Swear In.  Today is the day he has been waiting for and I have been dreading.  My Baby is leaving the nest and embarking on the next aspect of his life. While I am sad at the thought of losing my baby ond only having 2 kids in my house, I am very PROUD of Jimmy and support his decision to join the Army.  (Though I might add that his younger brothers, Tony and Dillon, have already started to divide up Jimmy's clothes and furniture.  If they didn't already have their own rooms, I am sure they would be fighting over who got the room also.  BOYS!!)

Please make sure you check out the rest of the team's artwork.

Until next week

Character & Scripture

This week over at Inspired Stamps we were to create artwork using a Character and Scripture (this was to be posted with the Tuesday group, but I forgot the schedule change).  Above is what I came up with.  As most of you know my son Jimmy is leaving for boot camp here soon.  Actually 3 days from now and it is really hitting home with this Momma. Most days have tears involved with them sometime during the day and my son and I are in the process of cleaning up his room (deep cleaning), so I have been scatter brained more than normal.

This is a card I am planning on sending him, sometime in the near future.  Usually when I stamp the HLO: Soldier with Flag, I paper piece him to give him his color and dimension.  With today's image I wanted to create the feeling of something missing, the soldier.  So I embossed the HLO using clear embossing powder on white glossy paper then inked my browns and greens over it to create a camo paper.  I then paired it with the scripture from the Psalm 91 Protection  stamp set, to create my card front.

On the inside I inked my edges with dessert sand and then stamped the HLO:Soldier with Flag again in opposite corners in Desert Sand and the "Missing you and thanking God that He is there with you!" Sentiment from the Psalm 91 Protection Set in Black.

Materials Used: Inspired Stamps HLO:Soldier with Flag, and Psalm 91 Protection
CTMH: Desert Sand, Olive, New England Ivy, Cocoa, Black Ink, Colonial White, Barn Red, and Desert Sand Cardstock, B&T, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Versa Mark ink
Glossy Paper from Hallo's

Please make sure you check out the rest of the team's fabulous artwork for this week, by following the links in my sidebar.

Until next week

Inspired Stamps Sneak Peek Week

It is New Release time over at Inspired Stamps, all this week the members of the Design Team will be giving you a "Sneak Peek" of the New Inspired Stamps that will be released for sale this Friday Aug 17 at Noon.

Today Chere, Patty and I are giving you a Sneak Peek of the New Inspired Stamps "Feel Better".  I had lots of fun playing with this set, and I created 3 very different cards with it.

Last week, when we were to say what we felt our style was, I said "my style" changes depending on my mood.  Well last week was Clean and Simple, but this week is Whimsical, and Shabby.

For my first card, I decided that the Band-Aid look would be perfect for a "Feel Better" stamp set.  Just think back when we were kids and had a scrapped knee usually all it took to make us feel better was a hug from Mom and a Band-Aid to show off.  So I pulled out my stamps, Cuttlebug, and card stock and this is what I came up.
To create the band-aid holes I used my Swiss dots embossing folder and \
used the back side of the embossed cardstock.

My next card I decided to go a little shabby with, I was in a "De-Stressing" mood.  I also wanted to use the cute little band-aid stamp in the set to cover a paper tear.

These two cards remind me that while a band-aid and hug will help heal most physical wounds, God's love will heal all wounds!!!

My next card looks like it has been through the wringer, It is tattered, distressed and completely a mess, but it still looks beautiful in my eyes.  This card for me represents that even though you may feel like the whole world is stomping on you, there is always that little bright spot of life showing through.  And that no matter what you always have someone "God" in your corner.

For this card I created my Flower image using emboss resist method on glossy cardstock. I first inked up my cardstock in yellows and oranges, then I stamped my flower image with Versa Mark ink and coated with embossing powder. Once my image was embossed I inked over the cardstock again with black creating the orange flowers with a black background, as the embossed image resisted the ink. After I had my black as dark as I wanted it, I covered the whole piece in Versa Mark and heat embossed it several times, to give it a Glassy look.

Now Jump on over to Chere and Patty's blogs to see what they have created using Inspired Stamps Feel Better Stamp Set.

Until Next Week

My Style

This week over at the Inspired Stamps Blog we are adding new team members and we have all been asked to create cards that reflect our design style.

I have had a hard time deciding how exactly to describe my style.  It is hard cause my style seems to change with my mood.  Right now my style is very clean and simple, I am still working 3 jobs and I have 2 boys playing football, on 2 different teams.  So when I do make it into the scrapbook room, I need to make something that looks good but is quick to put together.  Below I have created two C&S cards using the Inspired Stamps Be Still Silhouettes.

Materials used:  Inspired Stamps Be Still Silhouettes
CTMH Materials: White Daisy and Black Cardstock, Black and Grey Wool inks.
