It's Embellished.

Well after getting a couple of hours sleep and asking fellow consultants for their creative input on the embellishment of Robbie's Hospital Layout I have finally added it to my completed pile. One down way to many to go. LOL

I ended up ditching the button idea because I just couldn't fall in love with it.  The final embellies were the Stamped Onesie, Rattle, Pin and Diaper from the Baby Steps Stamp set, Plus some outdoor denim brads, and a rub-on I found in my vast stash of Stickers from my pre-CTMH days.

Here is the finished Layout.  Please forgive the squashed picture, I can't seem to get them to look right tonight, but if you click on the picture it opens normal.

Here is the Left side.  I pop dotted the center little boy embelly and the top of the rattle and safety pin.
The stamped images are colored using colored pencils.

Here is the Right side of the Layout.  The words "precious miracle" are rub-ons I found in my stash.

Too Embellish or To Not Embellish . . .

Well I have finally, after 17.5 years, have gotten around to scrappin Robbies Hospital Pictures.  I am trying to push myself to get his first 8 years scrapped before he turns 18 in 5 short months.  If I keep pulling all nighters I just might get it done :-)

Now for my problem, I have the Hospital pages done with the exception of the embellishments.  I have started to do the embellishments but am not sure which way I like it or if I even like what I have done.  It could also be the fact that it is 3:30 am and I really need to go to bed.   Any how I am asking your assistance in helping me decide what more or less the layout needs.  Right now the Pictures and the Journaling are all placed, just need help deciding what if any embellishments are needed.

Here is the first option:  I used the "Just for Boys" stamp set with Outdoor Denim ink and Dutch Blue mats to create some embellies.  I think it needs more but am not sure what.

The next option I tried adding buttons, but am not sure I like that.
Here is the Layout with buttons

Please let me know how this layout should be embelihed.

Thanks

4-H Fun Crop - And a Layout featuring Jimmy

Today we had a Fun Crop for the members in our county who are taking the 4-H scrapbooking project.  Our county 4-H educator, who happens to be a Creative Memories Consultant, and I hosted the event.  We invited all the members taking the project to join us for a fun filled day of cropping and make-n-takes.  Of the 40+ members we have taking the project we had 12 attended today's event, not bad for something we threw together in 2.5 weeks.   In all I feel it was a really good day, and I got to teach something I love to the kids.

For my make and take I created a 6x6 Layout with the help of my upline Karen.  Karen came up with the out of the box idea to create a patriotic bunting using the Over the Rainbow Stamp Set
The 6x6 Layout was created by the members, I then went on to create a 12x12 Layout incorporating the 6x6 in it.  I used the following Close To My Heart Products.  Blue Ribbon Level 2 B&T, Colonial White, Cranberry, and Outdoor Denim  Card Stock, D1426 Over the Rainbow Stamp Set, Starstruck Stamp Set. On  the 12x12 Layout I also used 4-H Clover Stickers by It Takes Two.

First the 6x6 Layout

(this has the journaling box for the 12x12 lo, because I forgot to take a picture of it before I taped it down)

Now for the 12x12 Layout you will see the 6x6 has been incorporated into the Layout in the upper left corner.  This layout is pictures of Jimmy's market hog Sausage who placed 1st in her weight class in 2004,

A Layout for Robbie, plus matching ones for Tony & Dillon

As I have stated before Our Oldest Robbie is now officially a senior and I have 12 short months to get all 18 years of his life scrapped.  Yesterday I pulled out some premade layouts I had from a swap and decided to use some of his photos on those.  It was great I got 3 layouts done in less than an hour.  Of course only one of those layouts was for Robbie :-)  The layouts were 3 matching ones I had done for a swap, that participants pulled out of on the due date so I ended up with 3 of my own layouts.  Wednesday night I printed out my pictures for them and then stuck the photos on yesterday.  One moment down a lifetime to go.

Here are all 3 layouts Yes they ar exactly the same with the exception of the pictures.

Here is Robbie's pages complete with Pictures and Journaling. The Journaling was done on vellum

.
Here is a close up of the Journal box. I cropped a photo of their jersey so it showed just the number, then in Print Shop I added the new pict with a 50% tint. Then created a text box with the journal info. Finally printing the whole thing on vellum. I then put it on a white photo mat to make the jersey show up better.

Now so the other 2 aren't left out here are their pages. We do have one more son but he didn't play football this year so I couldn't make him a page.  I often come up with one design for that years sports then go through and do 4 Layouts using that same design so I can assembly line the Layouts as I go.

This one is of Tony our 3rd son

And now for my Baby (He hates it when I call him that) Dillon

Funny Face

My Nieces Nadine and Arizona both are taking scrapbooking in 4-H and I have the privelege of helping them use their pictures to create their own scrapbooks.  The girls and I have gone through their pictures and selected several to include in their album.

Today Nadine (age 10) and I got to work on her scrapbook while Arizona worked on her sewing project.  She had picked out a couple of pictures of herself at 18 months old and I turned her loose in my scrapbook room letting her pick out her own paper to scrap the photos.  When I can in to help her she had her paper laid with the pictures in the basic design she wanted.  She even knew what title she wanted to use.   I then taught her how to use the paper cutter to cut her paper, and how to stamp, cut out and mat her Title.  I am very proud of the Layout she produced.  I helped only in teaching her how to use the tools, and gave her a few creative pointers, in how to make the Layout better, and helped with the cutting of a couple of the letters..  She has scrapped with me before but this was her first venture with cutting her own paper and stamping it herself.  I think she did an awesome job, can't wait to see what her completed scrapbook looks like.

 Materials Used:
Tickled Pink B&T's
Blush and Crystal Blue Textured Cardstock
White Daisy Cardstock
Twilight ink
Hollyhock ink
Posterboard alphabet
Felicity alphabet
Blush Marker

Stay tuned for more pictures of Arizona's and Nadine's Pages.

Prom Pictures

My oldest son is now officially a Senior and I am pushing myself trying to get his life to this point scrapbooked so I can have them on display for his graduation party in 12 short months.  Needless to say I am only 18 years behind on his albums and I have been trying my best to concentrate on his albums in order to get them done ASAP cause of course 12months after the oldest graduates our next son graduates LOL.  I am quite proud of myself Robbie and his girlfriend attended the BCC Prom in April and I got the first 2 pages done less than 2 months after the event.  Of course I still have 1 more set of pictures from the BCC prom to do and then the pictures from the CVHS Prom they attended in May to scrap.  But for me it is a major accoomplishment to get pages done in that short of a time period. LOL

Here are the completed pages.  The paper for this one is Creative Memories, the Prom tickets and invites were scanned in and then printed on Cardstock, the rhinestone flourishes are from Wal-mart and the flowers and red rhinestones are from Close to My Heart.

Both Pages

Left side - Words were cut out with the Cricut using Doodletype cartridge.  Tickets and Invite were scanned in then printed on cardstock.

Right Side Page - the couple was made using Creative Memories Tag, Circle, and scalloped circle punches.  Glitter was added with stickles.

Masculine Layouts

As the mother of 4 very active boys I often am trying to make my layouts have a masculine look and feel to them.  the sports pages are easy.  But trying to scrap everyday life with out using all the flowery embelishments I love can be a challenge sometimes.  So I decided to showcase some of my more masculine layouts for others who have the same problem.  Note: Some of the papers are Non-CTMH.
